RONIN

Based on work ethic, loyalty and fortitude, Ronin is born from a new idea of documenting the metamorphosis of our world through a combination of different experties and approaches to photojournalism. Thanks to the partnership of photographers and journalists, Ronin’s mission is to provide high quality stories for international media, NGOs and institutional clients. Ronin is the brainchild of Karl Mancini, Giacomo d'Orlando and Alfredo Bosco. As reporters, they have developed photojournalistic projects collaborating with international publications and the core of their work has always been the human factor: the fight for human rights, the relationship with the ecosystem and life disrupted by conflict or exploitation. 
Their paths intertwined and together they created the idea of forming the Ronin platform, which branches out into personal and collective projects. Ronin means ‘drifter’, someone who does not belong to one specific place, a feeling that the three shared in their lives and in the photographic industry, and which led them, as if in a forge, to create something of their own by contributing their own experiences and desires to a photographic world that changes every day without precise direction. 
Ronin has a collective mentality of work, each individual's project shares common values of the platform, and as a platform Ronin collaborates with journalists, analysts, researchers to build a project that is visually photographic but can move on different linguistic levels: audio, video, written. Bringing together the ideas of those who use other working tools allows us to branch out the sense and meaning of the photographic project, while maintaining the most important issue: the centrality of the story and of those who are the protagonists.
